Stathis Koukoularis
Biographical Note

Born in 1945 in Kinidaros in the island of Naxos, Cyclades. He plays the violin and sings folk songs of the Aegean islands. Since 1959 he has been living in Athens. Father of Vangelis Koukoularis and of Niki Koukoulari, who also sings Nisiotika.
He started playing the violin at the age of thirteen and studied at the Athens Conservatory. Between 1968 and 1976 he lived in Australia.
He collaborated mostly with singers of various islands and in 1995 he recorded three personal albums: Istoria tis Ellinikis Mousikis: violi, Apo ti Mikrasia sto Aigaio, and To nisi mou tha thymamai.
He has participated in the recordings of approximately four thousand songs.
