Lambros Papathanasiou
Biographical Note

(1934-2014). Born in Distomo in Boeotia to a poor family of farmers, and survived the Distomo massacre conducted by the German Nazis when he was ten.
In 1954, he met Giorgos Papasideris and recorded his first songs. In the 1960s, he recorded 45 rpm discs supervised by Domna Samiou and later participated in the radio programs “Apo pantou tis ellinikis gis” (“From every corner of Greek land”) in 1982-83 broadcast by Hellenic Radio (ERA).
