[1912-1987]. Self-taught musician, born in Istanbul. He played the goblet drum, the daouli (davul), and all the traditional percussion instruments. He participated in the recordings of more than ten thousand songs, and took part in more than a thousand musical programs and events. He died in 1987.
Singer of Pontic songs, daughter of Christos Bayraktaris.
(1906-1981). Christos Bayraktaris was a Pontic lyra-player and singer. He was born in the village of Kromni, Pontus (Turkish Eskikıran), and died in Athens. His name was Simaioforidis, and Bayraktaris was his nickname. 
She was born in 1920 in the village of Roda on the Kyzikos peninsula, Sea of Marmara. After the Catastrophe (1922), her family moved to the village of Nea Roda, Chalkidiki. There, in 1984, Domna Samiou met her and recorded her.
