Lyrics

The captains of Trípoli, mana mou,
the captains of Trípoli
and the brave men of Moriá.
In Albania they lie, in Iván they rest.
A curse on Korytsá, Kleisoura and Tepeleni!
You took our boys from us,
no brave lad did you spare.
I joined up a brave levendis1, to go to war
and return, a brave levendis still,
to my home in Tsakoniá.

Translated by Michael Eleftheriou

1levéndis: a young man blessed with courage and physical presence

Original Lyrics

κατ. 4955/13.
