Ήρθανε τα Φώτα και τα Φωτερά,
ήρθε κι η Kυρά μας η Παναγιά,
σπάργανα κρατάει και κερί βαστεί
και τον άγιο Γιάννη παρακαλεί.
Άγιε Γιάννη Πρόδρομε και βαφτιστή
δύνασαι βαφτίσεις Θεού παιδί;
Δύναμαι και σω αλλά δεν τολμώ
να βαφτίσω Eσέ απ’ τον ουρανό
που ’ρθες να συντρίψεις τα είδωλα
να καταπατήσεις το δαίμονα.
