Γαμπρέ μου καλορίζικε τη νύφη που επήρες
τιμή και δόξα κι ομορφιά τής δώσανε οι μοίρες.

Το μύγδαλο το τσάκισα
κι μέσα σι ζουγράφισα.

Όμορφη που ’ν’ η νύφη μας κι όμορφα τα προικιά της
όμορφη κι η παρέα της που κάνει τη χαρά της.

Ώσπου να ‘ρθει η άνοιξη
να παντρευτ’ η παράνυφη.

Όμορφη που ’ν’ η νύφη μας, εγώ δε θέλω λόγια
στάζουν τα μαγουλάκια της τριαντάφυλλα και ρόδα.

Ώσπου να στέκ’ ο ουρανός
να ζει η νύφη κι ο γαμπρός.
Άσπρο χαρτί με γράμματα
να ’χουν καλά γεράματα.
