This song was devotional. The pilgrims used to sing it on Epiphany while walking to the chapel of St. John the Chrysostom a one hour’s walk from Fárassa. They sang it again on New Year’s Day but combined with another tune. The Epiphany tune was called “St. Chrysostom’s”.
