Eleni Bistika (Tilefos): 'Domna, a Nightingale and a Trumpet in One!'
Eleni Bistika (Tilefos), Newspaper, Kathimerini, 1995
The voice of Domna Samiou brings down walls, penetrates cement, rises to the fourteen-day Moon, accompanies it in an amorous way, and under the sound of traditional instruments –the bagpipe, the clarinet, the goblet drum– they start a dance and make a mock of the imported ‘Saint Valentine’ and of his studied manners…
Thank you, Domna, nightingale and trumpet in one! For awaking our Greek roots and for serving us, along with blonde wine, the antidote to the dullness of Valentine.
Extract from the column ‘Simeiomatario’ entitled ‘An antidote to the imported saint of love’ in the newspaper Kathimerini (16/2/1995), published on the occasion of Domna Samiou’s appearances at the ‘Astrofeggia’ venue.
