Aris Fakinos: 'Rescues Hundreds of Songs from Oblivion'
Aris Fakinos, Magazine, Telerama, 1983
Text
A folk musician since her childhood, a singer whose vocal potential adapts to the special demands of the repertoire of almost all regions of Greece, Domna Samiou is the only one who could gather around her Greece’s top singers and instrumentalists.
The reason is very simple: musicians recognize her as one of them and respect her not only for her great talent, but also for her dedication to traditional music. As a matter of fact Domna Samiou tirelessly sweeps the country, recording the best musicians, and rescuing hundreds of songs from oblivion.
