Listen
Lyrics
What ails you, crow, that your wings have blackened?
If it’s your heart that aches, come weep with me.
’Twas for you and me that sorrows were born,
and heartache pain and sighing, too.
The crow’s born white but ends up black,
like all those whose love unanswered goes.
Come, sweet bird, come talk it o’er with me
for I saw us parted in a dream.
I’ll take to the mountains like that black bird,
I’ll nd the painter and get daubed all in black.
Maid, a curse on you for treating with Charon,
and weeping, vexed, when he took me not.
A curse on you, most wilful maid.
No wine or raki have passed my lips,
I’m drunk on the sight of you.

Original Lyrics
Τι έχεις μαύρε κόρακα κι είν’ τα φτερά σου μαύρα;
