Lyrics
Full forty cunts bre, bre, bre, full forty cunts encircled me,
full forty cunts encircled me to gobble up my cock.
Whereon my cock, all cock-a-hoop, demanded of its balls:
– So, what d’you say, my trusty balls, can I then fuck them all?
– You fuck them, cocky, by cocksure we'll be around to help –
just leave a little room for us to get a look-in, too.
Translated by John Leatham
Original Lyrics

A characteristic feature of the Kozani Carnival is the Phanoi (from the Greek phanos=torch), a word that has many meanings. It is the name for the large fires lit on the last Sunday of Carnival in the town’s various neighbourhoods, as well as the fun and games, of a competitive nature, that take place around them and, by extension, the groups of masqueraders who represent each neighbourhood and play a leading role in the festivities.
